Gigantic Interview: Brett Stiles

               

Bernard Urban and Brett Stiles first worked together when they were art directors at an agency in Florida. They recently reconnected and are looking forward to future collaborations. Brett Stiles is the Gigantic Interview.

Describe what you do now and past experience.

I have a small graphic design firm based in Austin, Texas. We plan, draw, create and design everything from logos, posters, brochures, books, and annual reports to identity systems, product packaging, websites and CD covers.

In the past I worked as an Associate Creative Director for 10 years at GSD&M’s Idea City. Some of the clients I work on were AT&T, United States Air Force, SouthWest Airlines, Pebble Beach, The American Legacy Foundation and Pennzoil to name a few.

What are you working on right now?

I’m currently working on an environmental graphics assignment for LiveStrong (Lance Armstrong Foundation).

What is your idea of a perfect assignment?

Working with smart, sophisticated and open-minded people.

What inspires you?

My son, skateboarding, music, graffiti, table tennis, industrial design and travel.

Gigantic Interview: Stephen Mallon

Stephen Mallon is a photographer living and working in New York. He recently had unprecedented access to the salvage of USAirways flight 1549. He is the President of ASMP New York. He is the latest Gigantic Interview.

Tell us about what you do.

I am an Industrial Photographer—airplane recovery to prison power plant refits.

What are you working on right now?

Updating my commercial folio and promotion of the Flight 1549 salvage images.

What is your idea of a perfect opportunity?

A great creative team and a full crew to photograph green industrial powerhouses around the world.

Gigantic Interview: Jill Hanner

This week we introduce the Gigantic Interview. A chance to get know someone who inspires us. Our first interview is Jill Hanner, who we met on Twitter. 

Tell us about what you are doing.

I am video content creator. I have a webseries in which I play characters and vlog regarding current events and anything I find comical. I also do online consulting for those interested in learning about social media.  

What are you working on right now?

My current project is doing a weekly show with startupLUCKY. They interview startup companies and Venture Capitalists. I found the owner, Aronado, from startupLUCKY on twitter. We spoke a few times and became friends. He had checked out my videos and asked if I would like to join his team. I am also getting ready to be involved in the ford fiesta movement. I am getting a car from ford in a few weeks and will be sent on monthly missions and I have to film and upload the videos.

What is your idea of a perfect opportunity?

My perfect opportunity would be to create content videos all the time.

 

What inspires you?

My inspiration comes from those who watch me. I get an overwhelming feeling of joy when I receive thoughtful emails. People tell me I make them laugh when they are sad, and that keeps me going!
